Year. So much squeezed into 365 days, that seemed to both fly by and drag on for decades. It was Madefor’s first “official” year; we launched to the public right as the world around us was suddenly coming to a halt. The timing was not ideal, and like everyone else, we were forced to figure out how to carry on in business, and in life.

    In my life, courageous acts may look small, but they’re meaningful these days. It’s turning off my phone before I walk into my daughters’ room, it’s starting the day with a bottle of water, it’s pulling away from work to step outside and move for a few minutes. These aren’t big things, but given the stress I’m under, it would be easy to skip them. Committing to these small acts makes all the difference.

As a piece of advice, one of his friends recommended that KC give himself a silent “fist pump” every time he knew he absolutely got an answer correct. Every time he confidently filled in a bubble on his answer sheet, he paused briefly to celebrate that moment.

It’s that last one that really stands out.
